Privacy Policy

The Village at Laguna Beach ("we", "us") runs a community space at 1540 S Coast Hwy, Suite 102, Laguna Beach, CA 92651. This policy explains what we collect when you use our website to reserve or purchase a spot at one of our gatherings, and what we do with it.

What we collect

• Your name and mobile number. We ask for these when you reserve or buy a spot. Your mobile number is how we identify you — we do not use passwords or accounts.
• Your email address, if you give it to us.
• What you have booked — which gatherings you have reserved or purchased, and any membership you hold.
• Your messaging preference — whether you have opted in to receive announcement texts.
• Verification codes we send you, kept briefly so we can check the code you enter. They expire after ten minutes.

We do not collect or store your card details. Payments are handled entirely by Stripe, and card information goes directly to them. See Stripe's privacy policy.

Text messages

We send two kinds of text message:

• Verification codes. Sent only when you ask for one, to confirm a booking. Typically one message per booking.
• Event announcements. Sent only if you tick the opt-in box, and only about gatherings you have reserved — for example if a night is cancelled or moved. Expect no more than a few messages per month.

Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any message to opt out, or HELP for help. Opting out of announcements does not prevent us sending a verification code when you request one, as that is required to complete a booking.

Who we share it with

Only the services needed to run the site:

• Twilio — to deliver text messages.
• Stripe — to take payments.
• Netlify and Neon — to host the site and store the database.

We do not sell your information, and we do not share it with anyone for advertising.

How long we keep it

We keep your booking history for as long as you remain a member of the community, and keep transaction records for as long as tax and accounting rules require. Verification codes expire after ten minutes. Sign-in sessions expire after 30 days.

Your choices

• Reply STOP to any text to stop announcement messages.
• Untick the announcements box under My Profile at any time.
• Email us to see, correct or delete what we hold about you.

Your phone number cannot be changed from the website, because it is what links you to your booking history. Email us and we will update it for you.

Children

Our site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.

Changes

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page.
